The next IMS Measuring System is on its way to our customer:
Four IMS Thickness Gauges M60 for cold rolling mills
The special feature of this order: Not just one but four IMS X-ray thickness gauges M60 will soon be put into operation in two cold rolling mills of our customer for the thickness and thickness profile measurement of silicon steel.
The strip centreline measurement is performed by an X-ray thickness gauge installed at the entry- and exit sides of two HZ reversing cold rolling mills. During rolling, the thickness is measured in the centreline of the strip and the corresponding measurement results are transmitted to the automatic roll gap control (AGC) every 2ms.
The thickness cross profile functions on the exit side of each HZ-Mill are used to measure the strip thickness cross profile while the strip is stopped. Those results are used for presetting the rolling mill.
We received the first enquiry from our customer – including the detailed requirement profile already in 2018. Due to the complexity of the project, it took us time until June 2019 before, in the course of extensive technical clarifications and numerous modifications, we were convinced having developed and designed just the perfect IMS measuring system which covers the customers’ requirements and needs optimally.
After the order finally has been placed, we are glad to send out all four radiometric M60 thickness gauges from our test facilities on time, up on their way to China after only 8 months in April 2020!
